In a career of a veterinarian, you would be examining animals to detect any health problems they might have, treat their wounds, perform surgery on animals, vaccinate them against diseases, give advise to animal owners about their pet’s general care, and be able to prescribe medication. Veterinarians treat injuries and illnesses of pets and other animals with a medical equipment, such as surgical tools and x-ray and, etc. It provides similar treatment as a physician to human,, but instead a veterinarian provides it for pets and animals.
There’s different types of veterinarians which means each one has a different role, some example are, a Companion Animal veterinarians treat pets and generally work in private clinics and hospitals. A Food Animal veterinarians work with farm animals such as pigs, cattle, and sheep, they spend most of their time at farms and ranches, treating animals. In some cases veterinarians will be performing x-rays, vaccines, dental, surgery blood work, urine work and small surgeries. Veterinarians usually work about 10-12 hours long per day and will be always on your feet because you don’t know what type of animal emergency to expect . Also you would be working with small animals, such as dogs, birds, cats, reptiles, etc and you will be diagnosing them, and treating their illness or wound, you would also be advising pet owners about their pet’s nutritious intake. However there is one routine thing about being a veterinarian and that is that every day before you leave the animal hospital must be cleaned and sanitized to prevent the growth of germs and viruses so that the animals do not become sicker than they already
