Women do not use words that are more powerful in their conversations with other employees. Furthermore, they tend to communicate politely in the workplace, unlike men who speak rudely. It makes them emotional to conversations. The soft-spoken nature of women in the workplace makes them be looked upon by their male counterparts as being weak.
Asking Questions
Karten (2002) argues that men and women differ with regards to asking questions about the various processes and activities of the organization. For instance, men ask fewer questions as compared to women. Men usually ask questions to obtain relevant information. On the other hand, women usually ask questions for several purposes. The first one is to gather appropriate information. However, women may know the answer to a given question and yet they go forward to ask it. It is aimed at showing interest in what has been said by the other individual to build a good and understanding relationship with him/her.
