There are many people who have been honored during the American Revolution, but not everyone received the attention they deserved. An example of these people are women. Women took roles, such as nurses, seamstresses, cooks, maids, soldiers, and spies. Nurses weren't used much in the early days, but in 1777, they came to better use. While the female nurses emptied chamber pots, cleaned hospital wards, or rooms, fed and took care of the patients, and did the occasional cooking. Although it may seem surprising, female nurses were the ones that often came with new inventions and treatments to treat patients. In addition, the mortality rate in hospitals was exceptionally high, but some were not afraid of this dangerous task. As stated earlier, women
