Consequences of Social class (pgs. 261-264): I found this topic in chapter 10 very appropriate after watching Crash. I believe that this is very true that there are consequences when it comes to social class especially in America. There are figuratively 6 steps that determine how far up the social class ladder you go. First it starts with someone’s physical health that’s when someone looks at us to see if we have a good hygiene, smoke, obese, or a drug user. I left this last and not a part of the top part because it was a big role in the movie Crash that I really liked by the way. As a criminal justice major I have recently learned in depth about racial profiling and how common it is and as always been. It is sad to say but it is a thing and police, whites, blacks, Hispanics, etc. we all do it we judge people just because we can. It is wrong but it is heavily influenced by the media, movies, and our family. For an example, my family mainly my great grandparents were very racist but that’s how they were raised. Now a days we try our best to teach our kids respect and not hate. When I was a kid being raised by my grandparents they always told me if I did not have anything nice to say don’t say it all or don’t judge a book by its cover. This is not the type of movie I usually watch but, it impacted me in a way that kind of confused me if we know calling people horrid names is wrong why we do it. Is belittling people and making them seem lower then us really that entertaining.
