“Mighty Red Blood Cell”
I’m so excited to start our journey but before we go I want you to know my background. Lets first start where I was born, I was born and produced in the bone and marrow. I have the best and hardest job in the world, which is to carry oxygen and carbon dioxide. This is a very dangerous job which causes me to only live about 3 months. There’s also a important protein inside me that’s called hemoglobin which allows me to carry oxygen around. Now that you know my background and have meet my friends let’s begin our journey through the Circulatory System. Lets start our journey at the heart. Deoxygenated blood flows from the inferior and superior vena cava into the right atrium. Then flows into the right ventricle where it is pumped from there via pulmonary artery so that it can pick up oxygen from the lungs. Blood returns through the pulmonary vein into the left atrium. Through there, it goes to the left ventricle and then to the Aorta, which distributes the blood and then the blood begins the entire process over again. Still on my quest for oxygen I leave the heart and travel down to the lungs. Pulmonary Circulation happens between the lungs and the heart to create a blood flow. Blood carries carbon dioxide, oxygen, and food. Which is called also called alveoli it includes many tiny air sacs in the lungs where the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide takes place also. Something in common huh? Capillaries also tie everything together by connecting veins arteries. This is a great trip. But not all my voyages are
