I feel as if I am with the 48 hour no cell phone rule for the new students. I think that it helps the students to learn more about their fellow classmates without the distraction of their phones. Phones are a huge distraction in today's world and a lot of people may be addicted to their phones. People can use it to get away from talking and socializing with others. Also, excessive time on your phone can inhibit the development of social skills. Having no phone with you has many positive effects on your mental health. Going without it can help drastically reduce the amount of time a person spends looking at their phone, which will also give the brain a break from consuming so much data. This will help to improve your mental health by giving the brain a chance to rest. Phones also emit radiation that the body absorbs, which can be harmful to the human body. There are consistently recognized biological effects of radio frequency radiation absorption in humans that people might encounter. So I think going without your phone has many positive effects on your overall body health and your overall mental health. The rules for the new incoming students could potentially be dangerous to have. You can even experience withdrawal symptoms from not having or looking at your phone, such as nausea and headaches. People might even need to have their phone on them in case of an emergency so they can contact people for help. Even though you can experience these things from not having your phone on you for a while, going without your phone is great for your mental
