September 11, 2001, 8:45am. It's a normal, sunny day and you are about to walk into work, at the World Trade Center in New York City. Little do you know, in approximately one minute, your life will change forever, if it isn’t taken first. 8:46am. Everything goes black.You hear screams, sirens, and have no idea what is going on. If you had been just five minutes late to work, took a small detour on your drive into the city, you would have known exactly what had just happened. One of the most impactful terrorist attacks on the United States of America. Four airplanes were hijacked by a group of terrorists. Two planes went to New York, and struck the World Trade Center, North and South buildings. The third plane went to Washington D.C and struck the Pentagon. …show more content…
In total, over three thousand people lost their life due to these devastating actions. What could possibly compel somebody to perpetrate something as extreme as this? The Sunni Islamist group, al-Qaeda is to blame for these vicious attacks. Their leader at the time, Osama bin Laden, was the mastermind behind all four of the attacks that took place throughout the northern east coast of the United States. But where did this execrable motivation come from? What could make somebody so indignant that they feel the need to take more than three thousand innocent lives, and leave such a negative impact on a country?
