In the soldiers creed it states “I will maintain my arms, my equipment and myself”, by failing to do so I let down not only my fellow soldiers, I put them at risk. Not maintaining accountability of my sensitive items could allow a hostile person access to certain resources. I now know I must maintain vigilance over everything issued to me by the military. Great harm could befall others should I do otherwise. I should also help others maintain accountability so they fall under this same scrutiny that I have so carelessly put myself under. Accountability connects in with discipline because you have to have discipline to not do whatever you want to do and show up to places on time. You must also have the discipline to remember tools when you set them down. If you set a tool down somewhere and get into a hurry and leave it you will be held accountable for losing that item. If you leave your tools unattended someone could easily pick it up and then what will you do when you on an important mission and you need that tool?
