Born in Austria, Adolf Hitler rose to power in German politics as a leader of the National Socialist German workers Party, also know as the Nazi Party. He served as dictator from 1934 to 1945. His policies precipitated World war II and the Holocaust. Adolf Hitler (1889-1945) was one of the most powerful and infamous dictators of the 20th century. Hitler grew up in a city named Braunau am Inn, in Austria. Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, 1899. Hitler then moved to Germany for a short time then he went back to Austria.
