African Americans contributed to the Abolitionist movement by holding meetings for Anti-Slavery, also with trying to think like the slaves, to get a better understanding from where they were coming from and what they were all going through, and by helping other slaves escape the south. Those who were against slavery and wanted it to end would hold meetings. For example, in April 11, 1855 there was an Anti-Slavery meeting held in the Boston Commons.
