Bondage was the horrible value that Africans paid to come to America. It doesn't make a difference whether they arrived in the United States, or Brazil, or on a Caribbean island claimed by Great Britain. It was still a frightful shamefulness that people endured. They were caught by adversary African tribes and sold off into subjection to Europeans.
