Alexander Hamilton was an orphan from Britain. Hamilton had no formal education growing up, it wasn't until he went to America to attend university that he would begin his education. Alexander Hamilton, founding father and first Secretary of Treasury of the United States, changed the structure of the United States Government, financial system, legal system, and economic system we know today.

Hamilton truly believed that the government would not be able to function without a strong national and central government. Because of this, when the risk of the constitution not being ratified Hamilton decided he needed to do everything in his power to convince New York to ratify the constitution so he wrote the “Federalist Papers”. Hamilton, along with John Jay and James Madison, went on to write 85 essays. Each having written their own essays, with Hamilton writing the most out of the three, at an astounding 51 essays in 6 months. According to the article “Federalist Papers” In these essays they discussed the topics of how the nation would struggle with being strong and with competing internationally with the current way the Articles of Confederation had structured the government, and without centralization the nation would crumble. They also went over the main topics they wanted to change in the government that they wanted New York to focus on when reading the Constitution. Hamilton shaped the fiscal policy and modern financial system through the establishment of the national bank, assumption of state debts by the federal government, and the creation of a system of tariffs and taxes. These financial policies laid the foundation for economic strength and stability in the United States. Hamilton’s writings in the Federalist Papers continue to shape politics and political thought and ideology in the United States today because of his defense of the Constitution and advocacy for a strong central government. His writing in the Federalist Papers is continuously studied in classrooms across the United States to educate and help people understand their constitution and government structure. The structure of our government would not be how it is now without Hamilton. Going against his own country for the involvement in the independence of America, the advocacy and strong voice for a strong nationalist government, the writing of 51 federalist papers for the ratification of the constitution, all these things are things Hamilton did to support the states in getting freedom and government, and doing what he thought was just and right no matter where he came from or what upbringing he
