Alexander Hamilton was a U.S. soldier, lawyer, Founding Father, Secretary of the Treasury, and overall an influential leader to young America. Hamilton was born in the West Indies in 1757 to an ailing mother who would later die of her illness and was orphaned in his early teen years as his father was absent throughout his childhood. This seminal report proposed abounding measures, one being the creation of a National Bank; a private corporation that would be partially owned by the United States. As early as 1779, Hamilton was generating ideas of a National Bank and his next objective was to create a Bank of the United States, modeled after the Bank of England. His marriage to Elizabeth Schyuler in 1780, from a wealthy land holding family, also deepened his ties to rich and powerful leaders in New York. Therefore, giving Hamilton a slight advantage in his steps to succession. A national bank would collect taxes, hold government funds, and make loans to the government and borrowers. NOT
