Should cellphones be allowed at school? No, even tho cellphones can be used as a word processor, a text-messaging device, and a computation device. I know this because in the article A Pencil is a Word Processor : Making the case for Cellphones in Class source #3 paragraph 4 the author says,”The cell phone may be used as a computation device,a camera, a text-messaging device, a portable storage device, a music player, a word processor, and probably more.” Cell phones can be a huge distraction.Cell phones are misused by people calling in class and people texting test answers to each other. Cell phones also get stolen a lot so why bring them to school if they are just going to distract you and get stolen? I know this because in the article Should Cell Phones Be Allowed in Schools? If everyone in the school is trying to call someone it might be too loud to hear anyone. It also may overload phone systems. The 911 operators would not be able to answer anyone because there would just be calls that keep coming in.
