In the article,”Google Tell Me. Is My Son a Genius?” the author Seth Stephens-Davidowitz reveals that parents value their son’s and daughter’s completely differently. Data shows that,”Google searches suggests that contemporary American parents are far more likely to want their boys to be smart and their girls skinny.”(Stephens-Davidowitz). Google search is incapable of determining if someone’s daughter is beautiful enough or if their son is intelligent, so why do they still continue to research these questions? Parents might be searching for a sense of security and assurance that their son or daughter's appearance or intelligence is not their fault. This all leads back to gender stereotypes and I think that this is a horrible and unfortunate
