Today more than one billion people live in the slums of the Southern hemisphere. The sad truths are also revealed as close to 1/3 of the world's population has no access to clean water, the documentary also states 16,000 children die each day from hunger or hunger- related diseases, and the fact that in some parts of the world theirs suffering for even the most basic of needs. In the age of neoliberalism, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund have subjugated poor nations, especially in Africa with the burdens of debt and economies based on raw-material exports like diamonds in South Africa. Two of the biggest issues with this world of neoliberal politics is, one is the privatization of the water supply which is sometimes overturned by the angry response of the poor who could not afford, and the injustices perpetrated on poor Africans who cannot pay for hospitals and schools, that among many social, economic, injustices that these third world countries have to suffer
