Looking back at my assessment from Entry 2, I absolutely believe my skills have transformed. I would assess my writing skills as being somewhat strong. The wide range of writing assignments allowed me to master my weakness of organization and taught me how to take each idea a step at a time. Before, I would include numerous topics together into a hectic piece in order to not forget my train of thought. Now, I have learned to write down my sudden ideas onto a piece of paper and then continue with the idea I was writing. My paragraphs in my opinion no longer appear as a redundant mess. I no longer conform to popular thought. Professor Shannon has taught me to step outside my comfort zone and fight for what I believe in. She has taught me that it takes multiple drafts and long hours in order to create a successful text. …show more content…
It has transformed in my opinion because I was able to find my voice and confidence to stand up for my thoughts. One aspect that I believe has not changed is my revision skills. Since I relied on the center for reading and writing the majority of the semester to aid me in editing my papers, I was unable to learn on my own. However, I believe that with this transformation in writing I have undergone, my revision skills will soon become stronger. I am proud in myself for achieving the goal I had set of including more analysis into my papers rather than unrelated sentences. By learning how to read critically, I was able to extract the appropriate evidence I needed to support my argument. Reading between the lines allowed me to formulate my own analysis of the text rather than formulating opinions. My paragraphs no longer contain “fluff”, but are supported with sufficient and strong evidence that bulks up my
