Andrew Jackson was an autocratic leader. The Indian Removal documents, National Bank Controversy documents, and the Spoils Systems documents support the idea of Jackson’s autocratic presidency. According to the Indian Removal Document 1, the Natives were forced to walk over 400 miles into different states so that farmers could use their space for profit. This is an example of autocracy because he did not care about the Natives survival, but rather the happiness of his country. In Indian Removal Document 3, Jackson states that the Natives do not have to move if they do not want to, but will have to oblige by American law if they stay in their homeland. This is autocratic because Jackson did not give them any resources to start a new settlement
