Did you know that over 100 million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned and abused in the U.S every year (“11 Facts about Animals"). It is important because animals shouldn’t be tested so we could have a new kind of makeup, perfume, soap, or lotion. The value of knowing about animal testing is necessary because if you care about animals, then you would want to know what’s hurting them. The U.S. government should not allow animal testing.
People don’t realize what testing products on the animal do to them. People say that they don’t care what happens to the animals because they don’t like animals or that they are just rodents, and we have no use for them. Other experts are for animal testing because they think it helps us. An expert on animals testing says that “animals feel pain and fear just like we do” they shouldn’t have to be shoved in a cage so we can do experiments on them and being genetically engineered to develop cancer (Alistair Currie). Another expert says that they play a significant role in the medical and scientific organization around the world that agree. Also, they rely on the animals to learn how the body works (Dr. Bella Williams). It proves that Alistair Currie who is an expert in animal testing thinks that it is wrong because animals have feelings too. Also, it shows that animals have different body types than humans, and you can’t learn how a human body works from an animal. So they shouldn’t be locked in a cage so we can give them cancer to figure out how to treat it. According to Alistair Currie "In addition to being unethical, animal testing is fundamentally flawed because it studies the wrong species – and that is a scientific problem that can never be overcome. Approximately 90pc of medicines that pass tests on animals fail in people. That’s an enormous waste of money, animal lives, scientific resources and hope. The development of cutting-edge non-animal methodologies that can accurately predict what happens in human beings involves exciting, progressive and [practical] science.” It proves it’s unethical because animal testing is flawed because it is the wrong species. Also that it is a waste of money because the medicines that pass the tests for animals fail on the people, that have been
