The practice of moving back and forth between languages is called code-switching. The article ‘Good Grammar Gets the Girl’ by Elissa Englund shows how improper English prevents you from acquiring social attire Also, the article ‘My Goldfish Name is Scaley’: There’s Nothing to Correct”, by Rebecca Wheeler, tries to prove that education should not be perfect if you are able to understand each other, relating to the fact that we are able to code-switch helps us understand each other even more socially and communally. Lastly, the article “The Pleasures of the Text”, by Charles McGrath, states that language we have created in the online world that makes us more antisocial than socially active. All three articles prove that if a student can understand code-switching then he is able to overcome the standard English language. If a person such as a high school student is able to code switch then I disagree that high school students should follow the conventions of standard written English in all text messages, emails, and online conversations. One reason that code-switching is a perfect objective to use when speaking to people is that anybody is able to comprehend and perfect it. This means high school students should not follow the conventions of standard written English in all text messages, emails, and online conversations. If a person such as a high school student is able to code switch then high school students should not follow the conventions of standard written English in all text messages, emails, and online conversations. On the counterclaim some people may believe that code-switching is not educational when writing or speaking English. This is a weak argument because it restrains you from
