Abortion is one of the most debated topics in America and across the world, but have you looked at the different aspects of it? Some examples include: What is the best way to have an abortion? Should abortion be free? All these questions are brought up quite frequently when debating abortion, but an uncommon question is, should the father of the unborn child give consent in whether the mother can get an abortion? There are many opinions affiliated with this. Fathers should not have a say in a legal abortion of their unborn child because the mother is more physically and financially affected by the pregnancy, the father may not have a part in the child's life, and laws have been placed against it. From Michelles experience, she admits “The fourth C- section was a disaster, it was a rough delivery and even rougher recovery.” (Michelle 2016) Michelle then begins to talk about her fourth c- section that almost ruptured her uterus. This complication shows that if you were to give birth to a child your body might not be able to handle the recovery; for that reason it could be common that a pregnant women might give up her child against her spouse's wishes. Having a child is very hard on your body and may even kill you. The father will never carry a child. He will never know the hardships the mother will go through. Therefore, it would not make sense for the father to give consent for an abortion.
