As the Senior Human Resources Officer, Major Hines works at the brigade level and oversees personnel services for seven battalion human resources shops which amount to 34 soldiers serving various human resources roles. These roles range from other Human Resources Officers to Human Resource Specialists providing personnel services such as records management, personnel accountability, and strength management. Major Hines was asked to describe her job description, which she stated as being”responsible for providing personnel support that affects soldiers’ overall welfare and well-being, while assisting commanders by accounting for and keeping soldiers combat-ready,” this is also the duty description as defined by the Army for this position (Careers & Jobs, 2015).
