In the mighty war town of Sparta, a male child is born knowing his purpose in life, being able to make great strides to be the best he can. Strength and skill on the battlefield are assets. The more a person trains to become a fearful force, the greater the rewards will be in the progression of life. The daily struggle is not about how many cows you have or if the crops are ready to be picked, that is left to the helots. Instead, the day will bring forth attack formations, weapon training, life long friends in the form of a dining club. As long as the rules are followed and battles are won, a prosperous life awaits. There are Aristocrats, all the wealth is theirs. Pretty much everyone else will be poor. Some of the people will acquire wealth through farming, trade and crafts, yet the road to wealth will not be laid out so readily. It appears to me, to become wealthy in ancient Athens, one needed slaves and land, something difficult to acquire. Then there is their political government over the years, corruption was apparent. Although it is true, you could be a scholar, philosopher, fisherman, anything you desired, you would also be poor. And lets not forget the people of Athens killed the philosopher Socrates, because of what he believed in and taught (Brand, n.d.). There was too much power to the people, without enough checks and balances. It is a terrible idea in my opinion to let the mobs rule by public opinion that may not be accurate or
