Atticus hoped that Scott would find a place to settle. His fatherly love wants to see his son have his own place settled with a loving family. Atticus’ immense care is expressed as he wants nothing but Scott to be happy and settled someplace. As a whole, this quote reveals the feelings Atticus had for Scott.
