The author Ban Zhao as in the text " taught history, classical writing, astronomy, and math to Empress Teng and her ladies-in-waiting." Also based on the text, provided you can also conclude that she strongly believes what the Chinese culture says to what should be of a woman. This influenced the meaning because she said what she believed to be true in a special depth others who didn't it couldn't have described.

The author was writing in A.D 45-120. She both lived in China and the story took place in China. This was a time when a woman had certain duties expected of her or she would bring shame upon her ancestors. This time and settings effect the story in a large way. It's a little odd at first. She does not think much herself as a person. She also doesn't think her intellectual abilities are to the standards of her approval. She speaks low of herself in the introduction of the selections. But in all she seems to try and relate to the woman of the Chinese culture in the best she can. The author tends to repeat several things throughout the story which mainly are the ways of a successful Chinese wife and mother. She repeats this because she seems to want to emphasize the importance of these ways. The ways of the woman that she so often repeats is the heart of the writing the main reason she began to write the selection. The author tries to make a stand for women and tell them what is expected of them. As a whole, the relevance of the language has a meaning like no other. A meaning that is easy to understand but hard to reword. She wants the reader to see as a proper Chinese woman as well. But I am unsure as to why the author wrote as the way she did, it might have been certain words would come to par with the meaning that she was trying to
