he term " Baroque" is used by the historians in their description of the European painting, architecture and sculpture which was created between 1600 to 1750. Initially, when the term was applied to the visual arts, it conveyed a negative attitude as it seem as it suggested the bad taste. Several factors led to a realization of the diversity of the art. The first one was associated with Renaissance culture which originated from Italy around 1400. Later, it spread throughout the Europe from Florence. In 1600's various artists with different nationalities combined their efforts and skills to create work of great originality. Some of the artists came from France, Spain, Netherlands, and even Italy. Notably, there were shared preferences among the different artists about the style and the subject matter. However, there were also notable differences. He was the popular Flemish artist who borrowed his themes from Christian and pagan literature. Ruben illustrated them using human figures applied in physical action. Italian women who were well known for their painting abilities included Livonia Fontana(1552-1614) and Artemesia Gentileschi(1593-1652). They made beautiful pictures of monumental buildings. Similarly, the Dutch exhibited their characteristic style which was directly fueled by their commercial and political accomplishments.
