I enjoyed reading your post this week. I like how you said, “scholarship is not something that is one and done” (C.Akerman, discussion post, February 14, 2018). I entirely agree with you, when we get our degree, we are retaining the foundation material and must incorporate experience and critical thinking skills. The expert not only knows what needs to be achieved, thanks to the well-refined ability to exercise situational discrimination, they know how to reach the goal (Kaminski, Fall 2010, p. 967). I believe we are still missing a crucial component to be an expert nurse, and that is excellent interpersonal skills. Nurses spend a lot more time with clients then a medical doctor. So it may be ok for a medical doctor to have terrible
