On the topic of Betsy Ross, NO she did not the First American flag. It was a legend a fairytale a hoax if you would call it that. Its due highly to many historians not having any evidence to back the story up. “The story originated in 1870, when Betsy’s Grandson William J. Canby passed it on to the Pennsylvania Historical Society, saying he heard it from Betsy herself when he was a child”(Jin Dwyer,Amazing Facts of America’s past, Legends of Old Glory pg 50).
