Boston Marathon Bombing Analysis

The Boston Marathon is one of the world’s premier marathons with over 32,000 yearly competitors. Many people strive to qualify and this race is at the peak of many bucket lists. I can only imagine the joy many first-timers felt crossing the finish line on race day on April 15, 2013, at least until the bombs exploded. For many, their lives would change forever. These two bombs would prove to change the way police department’s “Special Event Units” would do their job thereafter. Specifically, for us in Nashville, Tennessee, the St. Jude Country Music Marathon was less than two weeks after this bombing. This was the next large marathon in the United States with over 30,000 runners.
Our police department’s executive staff quickly assembled and
