1.1 Intro
In today’s sporting environment the possibility of holding on to your job for more than 4 years is rare. The English premier league has 20 teams and in the 2014-15 seasons alone there were 14 managerial changes (league managers association). That is a staggering 70% of job changes in one year. This year alone the GAA season hasn’t started yet and there have been 5 managerial changes and 3 jobs still vacant. Get rest of manager changes

Over the years there has been a lot of research gone into business and a number of change models created. Unfortunately there is little or no data for change in the sporting environment. An understanding of these models of change can relate to the change in sports management. Change management models are useful in that they describe and simplify a process so that we can understand and apply the principles. The top models of change management described on this page have proven their value but all focus on very different processes and outcomes. This is a change management activity that will challenge us to examine our own values and the way we react to change.
