Struggle for Change

What is the struggle for change? The reasons that people struggle for change are because they don’t want their children to go through oppression and want them to have the liberty that they possibly never had. This is why people struggle for change.

The first reason of struggle for change is oppression. Many colored people are treated unequal and white people have control over and are turned into slaves for example this quote says that nothing will make the people forget about how they were oppressed by other people. “Nonetheless, no single case, law, or amendment could instantly erase the long tradition of prejudice and inequality”(pg.279). “The zigzag will continue into the future. History teaches us that the rights gained can be lost, curtailed, or ignored--and perhaps gained once more”.(pg.279) I think this is saying that many colored people that gained their right that they had gotten permission for will be once again will be gone. My personal opinion will is that everyone should be treated the same no matter the skin color or hair color, we are all humans and we are all equal in different ways.

People were also fined for letting a slave read or write. “ under severe fines and penalties, the teaching of the slave to read or right(pg.291). My person opinion is that no matter who, or where you came from you should never be called an animal, we all should be able to read and write; also no one is an animal even if they live under a bridge or because they are dark
