Abigail is the most despicable character because she fakes seeing things that other people can’t see. She enjoys making the accused go to jail because she is paranoid. She wanted John Proctor's wife to go to jail because she had an affair with John Proctor, and she was not happy because she still loved him. She is extremely selfish and doesn't care about other people's lives. “You loved, me John Proctor, and whatever sin it is, love me yet! John, pity me, pity me!” (Act III).
