Character Analysis Of Abigail Williams In The Crucible

Throughout the semester, we met a lot of characters, each of which is unique and interesting, whether it is a rich and popular man in love, a clever but mischievous creature, or a manipulative conspirator. On the dinner, I invited the person that stands out the most. Abigail Williams is a young and vengeful, beautiful and selfish, powerful and manipulative girl with an outstanding ability to lie and cause troubles to others and herself. She catches my eye, due to her duplicitous character. So, it is interesting to watch how she acts with different people and I want to know which face is her real.
We talked for awhile, and I asked her some questions related to her feelings toward Proctor and other citizens of the town. According to Abigail,

No doubt, that after all Proctor would not be with her, so nothing kept her here. She and Mercy knew that sooner or later they would be punished for their lies, so the best way was to leave the town taking some money. Does she felt guilty for robbing her own uncle? Not really. She says, he is an extremely greedy person, who cares only about his own life, so why should she be concerned about him. She was also afraid of his reaction if he would know that she was lying all the time.
Did she think about telling the truth to the court? For a moment, she was about to reveal the lies, but after making people believe in Devil’s machinations, she would be called a witch and executed. She was so scared but didn’t want anyone to get hurt. Goody Nurse, Giles Cory, Tituba- all of them were innocent victims of her cowardice and fear. She knows, that her actions were selfish but couldn’t do anything about that due to her childish recklessness and huddled up in love head
Abigail is trying to show her strength and independence, but at the bottom of the heart, she is a broken girl who just needs love and attention. She seems to be harsh and careless, however, after a dinner I believe I got to know her much better and I understand some of her
