I got admitted to UCSB as a Pre-Communication Major, while I work to getting accepted into the major, I have enrolled myself a Chicano Studies course titled Critical Race Theory (CRT). Prior to UCSB, I had taken an Ethnic Studies class titled La Raza Studies, which I found the topics to be relevant and interesting to my personal and academic life. Being a first generation Latina college student, I was drawn to classes that give historical context about my culture, their representation in society, and the ideologies that define my community.
