Christopher Columbus was born in a city called Genoa, which is in Italy. He studied math, astronomy, cartography, and navigation in Lisbon. He says that finding a western sea route to Asia was rejected by Portugal and England.

Between 1492 and 1504, Columbus was the fourth time across the Atlantic Ocean. He thought America was Asia. He found the Americas, but he never reached Asia.

Negative impact: 1.Columbus's arrival in the Americas caused centuries of violence. 2.The tradition of indigenous peoples was ruined by Columbus. Positive impacts: 1.The Columbians exchange new plants, animals, and technologies to the Americas.
