Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, or better yet known as CTE has taken over the brains of famous football players nationwide. The documentary, League of Denial, and many articles such as Study: CTE Found In Nearly All Donated NFL Player Brains, Ex-NFL Player Is First Case of Living Person Identified with CTE, Aaron Hernandez Had Serve CTE When He Died At Age 27, have explained the cause and effects of the brain disease in players who have suffered from concussions throughout the years. Football can cause CTE because the multiple hits to the head sustained can hurt the brain, and eventually affect the person’s daily life. This alarmed many scientists causing them to study multiple brains of dead football players, and almost all of them had CTE. Recent cases of the mayor effects of the brain disease are seen in the late Aaron Hernandez and Fred McNeill. Recent research and evidence have shown that CTE is caused by football, and can affect the players in serious ways.

The articles by Goldman for NPR, Belson for The New York TImes, and Red for CNN have shown the effects of the brain disease and the numbers of people affected by it who were mostly involved in football. The documentary, League of Denial, demonstrates how diminishing the brain disease, CTE, by explaining the latest research and findings. One of the most worrisome findings is that a concussion isn’t needed to cause CTE, the regular bumps and hits are enough. Overall, that means that a child is able to develop CTE in the future if they play football at a young age. The youth brain is different from the adult brain because it’s easily more disrupted, and since its lighter compared to an adult’s brain it needs less interia to be put into motion.
