1.1.1 Identify roles citizens play in civic and private life, with emphasis on leadership.

Citizens play many key roles in their civic life. They interact with the community to help out others, leadership positions normally show through in civic or community events. Some examples of this would be your local neighborhood President and Co-President these two people stepped up to lead your neighborhood and to fix the problems you or your neighbors may have been having. In private life you may or may not have a ear of your household or if your flying solo you are the head of your household. As the head of the household you’ve taken the position to lead your family, or maybe just yourself. In conclusion there are many key ways leadership effects both you civic life and you private/home life.

1.1.2 Explain and provide examples of the concepts “power,” “legitimacy,” “authority,” and “sovereignty.”

Power - Power is something you are able to gain through force or an astounding leader who everyone feels will support there needs. The word found in Legitimacy is Legit, the word legit gives us a basic understanding of what the main idea of the word is. In order to be in a legit or legitimate government you need to follow laws, create legal requirements that will help ensure that you are 100% legit. A man named Ray Halbritter is fighting/campaigning to get the name of the Washington Redskins switched due to offense of the Oneida tribe. While campaigning people looked back into his history and found out “his” tribe he was arguing for he was not a valid member of, his relatives only dated back to living on the land and not being actual Oneida American
