Healthcare is continually evolving to provide the best care possible to the patients it serves. One of these ways is the implementation of technology into daily practice. Technology is growing at an increasing rate, and now it is up to the profession to ensure its incorporation is of benefit to all in a safe and effective manner. Technology has been found to increase the likelihood of collaboration between patients and their various healthcare providers, and has led to improved patient satisfaction and outcomes. As more providers get paid based on health outcomes, the hope is that technology will be able to guide people toward healthier behaviors (Kutscher, 2016).

The first group of employees is onboard from the start and have a positive outlook no matter what. They take on the change with open arms. The second group are those who are immediately opposed and are certain the change will never work. These employees have a negative attitude and often attempt to pull others into their way of thinking. They fight the change every step of the way. The third group are those who remain neutral and go with the flow. They are not overly interested in the project, but will do whatever is asked. This is very helpful and gains the buy in of the staff from the beginning, as they know what to expect and trust the process. While most projects are perceived positively, there is always the thought looming in the minds of the staff about the amount of energy that will go into implementing the change. We all know that change is hard, but once the learning curve is over, staff generally is satisfied with the overall outcome. During the implementation of projects, the entire staff is kept up to date with the progress and knows what is expected. Even with the best laid-out project plan, there have been instances where projects have encountered unforeseen issues and have had to be altered, delayed, or even completely terminated. While this can be frustrating to those involved, it is reassuring to know that a project will not be implemented if it is not 100% ready or the quality is not up to par. In healthcare, we deal with peoples’ lives, so the end-product must reflect the high-quality care people expect and deserve. Proper project planning and management are standards that are exercised throughout my organization. This process is advantageous and leads to the overall success of the projects that are implemented. It also speaks to the success of the organization and the care that it provides.
