ABC Company soon became a huge success that they embarked on further expansion within Hong Kong and into Asia including Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia and mainland China.
3.2 Current Situation
Due to Financial Tsunami since October 2008, ABC Company forces to make a business decision to close down the business in Malaysia (last year in 2009) and made a redundancy activities in Hong Kong. This has brought a greatest challenge to the Executive Team (Top Management and Human Resources Department to find a way balancing between sustaining the business in Hong Kong for continuous improvement (e.g. ensuring its making profit and showing good projection to investor) and as well as retaining the existing employees (after redundancy) by giving them a full support and assistance. Thus, Human Resource (HR) is playing a vital an important role to ensure communication, involvement and participation of all employees being planned and executed effectively and efficiently.
According to the employee survey of ABC Company in Year 2009, employee satisfactions at their job, towards their line managers and to the Company scored below 50% which is the lowest ever in the past year. This indicates a greater improvement is required.
HR of ABC Company believes that Financial Tsunami in recent years has direct impact to the business. As such, the top management has swift their attention to HR by investing more resources on
