In a democracy, there is diligent involvement of the public in the making the political decisions of the state. Fair elections would be held to decide and replace the active government. Citizens get equal rights in a democracy, and the law applies to all the citizens of the United States equally. In comparison to the two political parties, one can find that in a democracy, power is with the citizens, while in the Republic the power rests in the hands of a representative who people have voted for.
