Spanish, French, and English are some of the most popularly spoken languages in the Americas, and when going through history it is easy to see why. Those three empires conquered and worked their way through the Americas when it was first discovered. However, they didn’t expect the threat they would be faced with until they reached the new land. The Native Americans, regardless of Tribe, we brave and proud, and refused to yield. Because of this, as well as other factors such as food, terrain, and weather, each European Empire had their own ways of trying to settle the land. However, while each European Empire was successful in some way, the English we’re the ones who were most successful in trying to colonize and conquering over the Native Americans.

St. Augustine. The Spanish had hold of their port settlement in Florida and they kept it thriving since 1565. However, the Spanish had very few settlers to occupy the land, and the relationships they had built with the Native Americans were shaky and unstable. So instead, they tried to enslave the natives. However, they put the Pueblo Natives under their rule, and they couldn’t trade with neighboring tribes. As such, those neighboring tribes raided and stole from the Spanish, as well as just years of constant drought and diseases caused many of the Native American workers to die, as well as the Spanish. The Spanish military got involved once they heard that some of the Pueblo Native Americans we’re practicing their old religious beliefs and that lead into the Pueblo revolt. The weather was a downfall that Spain could not control, however, if they would not have forced the natives under their rule and have them cut off ties with the other natives, many casualties could have been avoided, and the map that we have today could have been rather
