Core Values
Civilizations and schools all have one thing in common, they all believe in core values. Core values are the principles that guide an individual, civilization, or a business. At Holy Family University, there are six core values. The core values are family, respect, integrity, service and responsibility, learning, and vision. Learning is one of the most important core values, at Holy Family University. The core value, learning, states that through learning ethical, logical, and critical thinking will be used to help globally. Learning is needed for the success and peace of countries. The United States, along with other countries, have all had problems with ISIS, The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, because they must learn

ISIS wants to control everything, they want to have all the territory and they want everyone to be Islamic. ISIS is trying to fulfill the prophecy of the Quran and get a country to attack them on their soil. Since they want to take over the world and fulfill the prophecy of the Quran, they are performing terror attacks all around the world, especially in the United States. In “What ISIS Really Wants”, by Graeme Wood, he says “... its religious views make it constitutionally incapable of certain types of changes” (Wood 1). Wood is saying that there is no possible way that ISIS can change. They are unwilling to respect other religions, and cultures, because they only want one thing: world domination. Sharia Law states that ISIS can not change the way they live. ISIS will never change their lifestyle meaning that they will never respect another country, or culture, because they only want there to be muslims. With this information, Nolan Finley writes in his article “Finley: Don’t fight another P.C. war in Syria, Iraq,”“The Islamic State is a rag-tag outfit that drives around with guns mounted on flat-bed trucks. It does not have an air force, or a navy or highly lethal special forces” (Finley 1). Finley learned that ISIS has no air force and believes that the best way to defeat them is using that against …show more content…
In “What Going to war in Syria Would Really Mean for the U.S.”, by Conor Friedersdorf, he says that “the most effective way of fighting ISIS requires the U.S. to go to war in Syria in concert with the Syrian government…” (Friedersdorf 4). Friedersdorf wants the U.S. to go to war, but doesn’t want the United States to go to war with ISIS because it will help the Syrian government. The Syrian government will become stronger and could potentially cause a problem for the U.S. in the future. Another problem occurs with ISIS recruiting. In Rukmini Callimachi’s article “ISIS and the Lonely Young American”, he learns that ISIS is recruiting people online. This is a problem because if the United States goes to war with ISIS it will fulfill the prophecy of the Quran. If the prophecy is fulfilled, thousands of people just like Alex, from Callimachi’s article, will be convinced that “Islam is the correction of Christianity” (Callimachi 7), and they will help join the fight for ISIS. The United States learned that it is not necessarily the best option to go to war with ISIS, because it could cause more problems than it
