Over the time frame of a week we had the opportunity to talk to three professionals who are all currently working in different areas of the criminal justice field. Each of them explained the positive and negative aspects about their careers and the different tasks that they are involved in when investigating a crime. Throughout both of the guest presentations I realized that what I thought to be true in regard to their professions is not one hundred percent accurate because a lot of what we see on television is dressed up so that it appears more appealing for the public audience.

The cops would make sure to take all of their fingerprints from each finger and store them in their files so that if in the future they happen to commit a crime they can be identified faster. Something that stuck out the must to me was that I always thought that by adding more pressure to the finger, the fingerprint would be easier to use. But that is not this case, in fact if unneeded pressure is added on top of the finger the fingerprint runs the risk of getting smudged (it is unable to be used) which could result in the losing of the case. Also both of the men mentioned that fingerprints are harder to be found on fabrics and rough/uneven surfaces because the latent print is unable to be
