Syncretism involves merging traditions, this means different religions unify with one another. Looking at the Indian tradition there are different beliefs such as Hinduism, and Buddhism. These traditions were in one way during the ancient Indian era but have managed to evolved, over many years. When that tradition evolved it combined different elements from other religions. Using the Chinese, American, and Indian religions all three are considered sacred within their own right. The issue within these cultures when involving syncretism is that one cultures faith may betray the teachings and followings of another. Africans managed to establish their own Christian churches because the influence of Christianity from westerners became frustrating, because the implemented their own churches they were able to include their own heritage and traditions. Buddhism, Christianity, and Hinduism all carry cultural factors that somewhat co-inside with one another. Christians have a religion and beliefs that aren’t really considered to be syncretic, compared to Buddhism or Hinduism. If the Buddhist faith was to teach Christians to not be so into the image or images of Christ, and taught Christians to place their faith within prayer, would this be considered syncretism.
