Imagine the sensation of burning flesh or a sword puncturing ones heart while suffering slowly. Both situations were examples of what laborers sustained. Europe had numerous amounts of dangerous occupations during the Medieval Era. Venturesome employments occurred after the fall of Rome to the rise of the Ottoman Empire. Positions were divided into different categories such as: nobility, professionals, intellectual, working class, and entertainment. Most treacherous vocations were mainly obtained in nobility, professionals, and the working class. Europe facilitated dangerous jobs during 500 A.D. to 1500 A.D.; conditions could lead to death for individuals that worked, which impacted stress for workers. Occupations were treacherous in medieval times, conditions and activities the laborers endured was what made the jobs dangerous. First, there was a ship surgeon that sailed with European naval sailors; this occupation was ranked as a learned duty. A ship surgeon received respect; this was not a low class position.
