Not everyone in the United States is free from torture and slavery. Many people, such as immigrants, are put to hard labor with very low income. Another is the right to a fair trial. Sometimes, people will be sentenced without any trials at all. Some importants rights are the freedom of speech, thought, and religion. There have been many protests recently in which police had to get involved to stop them. This is completely unfair to the protestors who have the freedom of speech. Human rights only exist because the government says so, but they can be taken away at any time. Americans say that human rights are universal and force it upon others. However, if they were truly universal, there would be no need for the force. If the government punishes you to death for something that is lawfully wrong, have they violated your basic rights?
