Research Questions
1. Is there a statistically significant difference in the opinions of males versus females on the preference of domestic vehicles and imported vehicles?
2. Is there a statistically significant difference in the opinions of older people, versus younger people on the preference of domestic vehicles and imported vehicles?
3. Is there a statistically significant difference in the opinions of different ethnic backgrounds on the preference of domestic vehicles and imported vehicles?
Hypothesis
H1: There is a statistically significant difference in the opinions of males versus females on the preference of domestic vehicles and imported vehicles. H1a: There is no statistically significant difference in the opinions of males versus females on the preference of domestic vehicles and imported vehicles. H2: There is a statistically significant difference in the opinions of older people, versus younger people on the preference of domestic vehicles and imported vehicles. H2a: There is no statistically significant difference in the opinions of older people, versus younger people on the preference of domestic vehicles and imported vehicles. H3: There is a statically significant difference in the opinions of different ethnic backgrounds on the preference of domestic vehicles and imported vehicles? Definition Of Terms
1. Domestic: Any car made within the USA
2. Imported: Any car made outside of the USA
3. JDM: Japanese domestic market. Any car made in Japan, and for the purpose of this study, in any surrounding country. This includes Toyotas, Nissans, and any other car made in Asia, essentially.
4. USDM: United States Domestic Market. Any car made in the United States. This includes Dodges (Mopars) Fords, and Chevys, as well as all sub brands.
5. EDM: European Domestic Market Any car made in Europe. This includes exotics like Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Aston martin, but also includes more eco friendly cars such as Renault, Citroen, and Mini.
6. Younger: under 17
7. Older: over 17
Delimitations
1. Time- The study is only limited to one semester
2. Population- The survey is only available to the students in Dr. Smith’s three classes.
3. Funding- This is simply a high school student study, thus the funding is not that of an actual study put on by staticians.
4. Staticians- We do not have certified Staticians at our disposal
5. Extracurricular Activities- Extracurricular Activities such as band and football games, Church and such limit the time I have to actually work on this project.
