On 8/4/17, Hennepin County Child Protection accepted a report of alleged Physical abuse- domestic violence impacting Brielle Burdette-Inman and Darien Inman Jr. by parents Darien Inman and Mariah Burdette. Per reporter a verbal report received on 8/4/17 Brooklyn Center PD officers responded to a domestic abuse incident. Per reporter when officers arrived Darien and Mariah provided conflicting accounts about what occurred. Per reporter there was a verbal argument between the two about leaning the house and at some point the conflict escalated to physical altercation. Darien is very supportive and he watches the children while she is at work. She reported before the incident they were all living together at Mr. Darien’s home. This worker asked about the allegation. She stated that she and Darien both have close relationship however at times they argue about “minor stuff”. On Friday she stated that she was feeling tired and wanted to sleep however, Mr. Darien was too loud and keeps cleaning the rooms. She stated that she asked him to stop and he did not. Mariah stated that they started verbal argument between the two about cleaning the house and some point the argument between them escalated and clothes and other item stuff were thrown to the floor. Mariah stated that she got upset and took his phone away from him. Mariah stated that the children were at home upstairs and not near them. Mariah stated that Darien pushed her of the bed by flipping the mattress. Mariah stated that Darien did not choked her. Mariah stated that her stepmother came home and called the police. Mariah stated after their arguments she deiced to move to her grandma’s home for the time being.
Ms. Mariah stated that she drinks occasionally at social events. She denied childhood abuse and neglect and. Currently Mariah is taking anxiety medication to manage her anxiety. Ms. Mariah was asked about discipline techniques in the home and she stated that she communicates with them and if needed she takes away their games. She denied the use of physical discipline. She reported no other concerns at
