One of the main concern about valuing life is education. Without education, almost everybody will be stupid. To get a job, you will most certainly need at least a high school diploma. With a college degree, you can get a good paying job like owning a business or become a lawyer.

Due to the tragic events on 9/11, the victim’s families were given a compensation for the death of their loved one as long as they do not sue anybody for the event. This can be a good thing while it can also be a bad thing depending on the situation. “In their modest house in Staten Island, littered with the toys of her twin two-years-olds, she explains why she sees the estimated $138,000 she would get from the fund as a cheap bribe,” (Ripley, para 26). The government was doing a horrible job on this because the mother of 2 needed may more than $138,000. Plus, the government promised a flat $250,000 so I don’t know what happened with that. There was a mother of five that did got $444,010 but I still do not see as that being enough to raise them because it costs around $100,000 to raise a kid until they are 18.
