On the other hand, sociologists refer to a juvenile as a person who is typically under the age of 18 and commits an act that otherwise would have been charged as a crime had they been an adult. Medical experts define juvenile as pertaining to youth or childhood; young or immature. In my opinion juvenile is a minor who is not a legal adult.

On the other hand the Cambridge Dictionary defines, crime as illegal activities. Sociologists define crime as behaviour which goes against all the norms, values and expectations of a given society . In my opinion, crime is any illegal act done by a person against the law which the criminal should be punished for.

I feel that it is very unusual how the government does not take it in consideration and does not investigate the cases that they really should, and it is because of corruption taking place in our country. It has gotten so common and it is why actions are not being taken.

PERSONAL PERSPECTIVE
In my view Juvenile delinquency is largely caused due to the stubborn behaviour and mostly a result of intimate relationships. It is about how they react to things when their friends start hitting on their partner and this leads to resentments and misunderstandings which causes them to have no mercy and murder those people for self-satisfaction as they believe that, that person will not be a burden any longer.

As this has been going on, it has also created a bad image to very young children who are at their age of 6 or 7, that they tend to simulate those repulsive act of behavior at such a young age, which is a bad influence on the upcoming generation, that the juvenile delinquency may be out of control and at a point where it would be difficult to bring a stop to it if any actions are not being taken

Statistics from the Maldives Police Service shows that there has been 2378 drug reports in the year 2016, and in the year 2017, there has already been up to 156 drug reports.

These outlaws are influencing minors by manipulating them into doing illegal activities, by starting off with the consumption of drugs and alcohol. Such statistics are not being shown or verified as these are not issues that are mostly being reported, but heard from different people they others can connections from. The reason behind is because the Gender ministry of Maldives also does not look into the cases that are being reported and is not considered as an important case to look
